Baldi is a wonderfully diverse school located in the Bustleton community of Northeast Philadelphia. We are focused on providing high-quality instructional programs that meet the needs of our changing community. We are offering you the opportunity to come to the school and pick up your child’s belongings. Specifically, any belongings in classrooms or lockers. We aim to have all visits be quick. Maintaining the safety and well-being of our staff, students and families is a top priority. Please follow the schedule and instructions below to help maintain a safe environment while the items are distributed: Schedule: 6th Graders: Monday, June 22nd, 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM 7th Graders: Monday, June 22nd, 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM 8th Graders: Tuesday, June 23rd, 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM Instructions: All parents/guardians/students are to wear a face mask or shield at all times Bring a form of photo ID to verify that you are the parent or legal guardian (government-issued ID, student ID, Work ID). All students and families must report to and enter through the Art Patio; on the side of the school building facing Verree Rd. One member of the family (student, parent, or guardian) will sign-in and be escorted to the location of their personal belongings. Please have knowledge of locker numbers and combinations before coming to school. Please bring your own bag to gather belongings. In order to minimize the number of people on-site, we ask that only the parent or legal guardian come to the school with your student. Students and parents may return books at this time, in particular, 8th-grade students If the parent/guardian/student is feeling sick, we ask that you stay at home and send a healthy representative with your ID to your child’s school to pick up the device. To help the process go quickly, please keep conversation with staff to a minimum. Thank you for your patience and understanding regarding the retrieval of your child’s belongings. If you need more food for your entire family, The Mayor’s Office is providing places to pick up HERE A Message from Principal Hostetter Dear Baldi Family, Now when we say Baldi is the best middle school in the city, we have even more proof to back it up. I am delighted to share the exciting news that Baldi has been declared a School District of Philadelphia Model School, an honor achieved by only 9% of the district’s schools! This week the school district released results from its School Progress Report (SPR) for the 2018-2019 school year. Schools are given an SPR score based on a number of measurements, including data regarding student academic growth, school climate, suspension rates, and parent engagement and involvement. Based on our SPR score, Baldi ranks as the Number 1 middle school in Philadelphia, outperforming all charter and special-admission middle schools. In addition, the report revealed that Baldi has achieved three consecutive years of SPR score growth and earned an incredible 96% of the points available for student academic growth. These are incredible achievements, ones we could not have made without our wonderful teachers, staff, counselors, students, and, most of all, our parents and other caregivers. Your involvement in your child’s education and participation in Baldi life are key factors in our success. Take a moment to congratulate your child and to pat yourself on the back, too.
